Another year – another successful/ fun Crop!!!!

February 24th, 2012

Good morning everyone,

Sorry it has taken me so long to get to posting something. Time just flies by!!

You can follow this link for pictures of the event: https://plus.google.com/photos/116879989190857607953/albums/5713640520290945089?authkey=CP2O193cw9vbIQ

The 5th Annual MS Charity Crop was a HUGE success and its all thanks to you, the sponsors & the volunteers! So many of you have been with us from the beginning and the support & generosity that you all show each year means so much to so many. I want to thank you all for filling out the surveys, these will be very helpful tools in our planning for future crops. I am very excited to announce we raised over $2,500.00 this year!!! Way to go everyone! Now to thank our volunteers & sponsors…

I would like to thank Jennifer Edwards for everything she does each year for me and for the event. I contacted Jenn the first year I did this event on a whim and who could have predicted how things would turn out. She did not know me at all and had only been in business for about 6 months. Jenn did not hesitate to say “yes” to helping me out. At the time I had no clue what I was doing and had no idea how things would turn out. From that day forward she has become a friend, a mentor and a major part of the success of this event. She is always the first person to say “what do you need?” “how can I help?”. Everything from goody bag items, partial proceeds from her classes, discounts on supplies for the event to advice. I couldn’t do this event without her! The classes she provides as well as the store she sets up are amazing and a major contribution to a successful event. Thanks Jenn for all you do!

Thank you to everyone who purchased one of the FABULOUS fabric garbage bags this year! 100% of the proceeds from those sales added to our total fundraising. What started out as a “hey, I can make a few of those for you to sell for extra fundraising” turned into “I made a 100 of them, think that will be enough?”. I truly can’t thank my cousin Tracy enough for all the time she spent on these and the amazing job she did (we figured out it took about an hour per bag x 100 bags). Tracy completely donated her time and talent. This was the second year Tracy was with us at the crop as a volunteer and I plan to have her be with me every year going forward if I can.

We still have some fabric garbage bags left in several patterns and colors. If you are interested in purchasing get in touch! These are fabulous for any type of crafter or ever just a nice item to have for you desks. They also make a great gift for someone!!

To my friends who volunteer their time and pay to attend the crop. A true testament to the amazing friends and family I have. Johanne & Sue – thank you so much for giving up your Friday to help with EVERYTHING to get ready and for all the support you give throughout the & at the crop.

Werner – most of you have had the pleasure of meeting my wonderful friend “Vern”! He is the very talented man behind the camera. Vern comes up at the crack of dawn with us ladies and helps us out so much. Everything from Parking, photography, clean up to comic relief! Thank you so much Vern for everything you do!!

Well that’s it for now everyone. I will send out a “save the date” email this summer and look forward to seeing you all next year. Don’t forget to check out Eternal Hope’s FACEBOOK page. Request to be a friend! I have posted photos from each year of the CROP & WALK on their.

Have a great rest of your winter!

PS. I’m working on a new BLOG so you will see a new look in the next few months.

4 More Days Until the 5th Annual MS Charity Crop!

January 31st, 2012

Hello all,

The crop is just around the corner now. Thank you to everyone who has registered! We have an amazing day planned for you all. Just a few tips and some “housekeeping” items for Saturday:

Layer up! The dining hall heat comes on periodically and is pre-set. We can not change the settings so sometimes the room can get a little chilly. If you layer up you will be fine :)

There will be tea/ coffee/ water/ snacks/ lunch & dinner provided to you. If you would like anything else to drink you will need to bring that with you (there are no vending machines).

The crop starts at 9:00am – the doors will open at 8:45am. We will not be opening the doors prior to 8:45 as we will be doing last minute set up.

Parking – there will be two people out in the driveway helping to direct you to parking.

10 Everyday Card Workshop by Jennifer/ Scrapbookin’ Adventures – there are a few spaces left in this workshop which will run from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at the crop. Jennifer’s classes are always a must and you leave with some amazing completed projects and some left overs to create more. To sign up, contact the store by phone 250-954-0009 or register online through the store website (under the links to the right of this post).

Scrapbookin’ Adventures will be the on-site store. There will be loads of product, tools, albums, paper etc… to choose from. Forms of payment you can make at the store: debit/ credit/ cash.

Raffle draws! We have an amazing selection of raffle draw prizes this year. Sizzix Big Kick/ One night stay at the Prestige Hotel & Resort in a deluxe ocean view suite/ weekend stay at Wyldflower B&B Scrapbooking retreat/ baskets full of goodies/ Sony Camera & memory card/ scrapbooking tote loaded with product/ gift card for 10 x – boot camp/ gift card for personal training/ …….

Tickets will be sold throughout the day – draws will be done at 7:00pm. Cash only for the raffle tickets.

Additional Fundraising: we will have some Eternal Hope t-shirts for sale as well as something new this year. My cousin Tracy has been a very busy bee the last few months making fabric garbage bags for any type of crafting. These are a must have and will sit on any crafting surface. All net proceeds from the sale of these items goes towards the fundraising goal of team Eternal Hope for the MS Walk in April 2012.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!

Workshops @ the MS Crop – Feb 2012

“All Occasion Cards” featuring Sophisticates

We all need quick ‘cards on hand’ and when we need them we usually never have them…so in this fun workshop we are going to create (10) cards so you won’t have to worry….for a few months anyway.

I am featuring Bella Blvd. Sophisticates by Stephanie in this class and cannot wait to share it with you.  The colors and design are perfect for the cards that include birthday, thank you, thinking of you and even a ‘love you’ card too !!

One of Bella’s newest additions is the very popular ‘Miniatures’ stickers for cards (or anything else…).  You will add cardstock and ribbon to all colors of the Sophisticates pattered paper and a full sheet of Miniatures to create these adorable cards.

No stamping, no coloring…….just a whole lot of cutting, sanding, punching, ribbon tying and sticking sticker fun !!  Can’t wait to see you in class…..

Supplies Required:

  • 12” trimmer
  • EZ Runner
  • 3D foam
  • Liquid Glue (quick dry)
  • Sanding Block

  • Tweezers
  • Corner Rounder
  • Your favorite border punches
